Working in a small bioinformatics team, the incumbent will provide software development and data management services for the GeneMANIA gene function prediction system targeted at biologist and computational biologist users. Candidates will be responsible for requirements gathering, design, implementation, operation and maintenance of data structures, graphical user interfaces, database driven websites, algorithms, reporting and technical documentation. Candidates must be well versed (at least 2 years experience) in programming in Java using open-source programming libraries and databases including database driven websites, and graphical user interface (GUI) design in Java Swing, and other modern technologies.
